Estate Planning Paralegal

In Donna's Words:

I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and spent my first 38 years here.  I moved to North Carolina in 2010 to care for my ailing father. After both my parents passed away, I returned to Ohio in 2019.  Upon returning to Ohio, I decided to resume a career I had begun in my 20’s. I had worked in the court system as a deputy clerk and in private practice as a legal secretary. It was then that I discovered my love of the law.  However, life took a beautiful turn, and I spent the next 20 years as an Orthopedic Technologist. But I never lost my love of the law.  In 2019 I put myself back in school and obtained my Associates of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Sinclair Community College. I will soon graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Law and Paralegal Studies.

The lessons I learned from working in healthcare aptly apply to my career as a paralegal. Just like broken bones need adjusting and support to heal, so does life at times.  I may get a setback or a loss that feels insurmountable, but with the right help and support, I can begin to heal.  Years and years of seeing the hope, spunk and adventure in young children who will themselves well inspired me. My goal is to bring that same empathy and encouragement to help support our clients through the most difficult times in their lives.

I believe whole heartedly in the resilience of the butterfly. A butterfly can fly with 70% of its wing surface missing.  When we are broken or have suffered great loss, it is then that we have the chance to become and do things we never thought were possible. This my view and passion for life.

In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, painting, reading, crocheting, spending time with my family and friends, learning stenography and playing with my cats. I also enjoy volunteering in the community to educate people about available resources to assist individuals and families plan for their future.
